The California touch

I love this drive-through building!

For some reason quite a number of drive-throughs in the Northwest adopt a tropical look by placing artificial or potted palm trees next to their buildings. I don't know why, because I don't associate coffee with the tropics. Coffee originated in Ethiopia. Do they have palm trees? I'm too lazy to look that up. Nevertheless, I strongly suspect that doesn't occur to the owners when they decorate their drive-through. Maybe they are suggesting the warm feeling you will get from the espresso they sell. Sunny tropical days are an easy sell on a dark rainy Northwest morning.

Well, my point here is that in California (this is The Jitter Bean Coffee Co. drive-through in Eureka) they are real, and they fit right in from an architectural point of view.
