Are you driven to espresso?

Wherever you live, is there an especially fantastic coffee bar? How about a more convenient option for boosting your caffeine level? Maybe that concept is not even a concept for you. But for some multi-taskers, it sort of grows on you as a practical alternative from time to time. I'd love to know your opinion.

There seems to be lots of discussion and debate about the very best espresso bar in the city/region/country/world. But what about the new trend in drive-through espresso? Can you get a quality shot at any of them? Have you ever pulled up to one? Have you ever seen one? Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have hundreds and hundreds of them. (Actually, no one knows how many of them. I have asked several experts and authorities.) And now and then you can find one with very good coffee. Really. Maybe someone should rate them -- well, some of them. But I thought, besides the quality issues, they are a rather unique aspect of the coffee culture, so I documented them. There are over 100 photos of them in my book, Driven to Espresso, plus a quick little overview to that whole business. If you want to check it out, you can simply search for the title in your browser or at amazon.com.
